About Us
Advanced Fire Systems was formerly known as Advanced Fire Protection. The Spokane location was one branch of the company based in Woodinville, WA. Long-time branch manager, Bob Skelton, became owner in 2009 when the company was renamed Advanced Fire Systems, Inc.
We are a family-owned business. Bob is a NICET Level IV with 30 years of experience in fire protection. Bob’s two children, Richard and Melissa, also work for the business. Richard is a NICET Level III and manages the Residential projects. Melissa is a NICET Level II and is a designer and office manager. We would be happy to provide service for all your fire protection needs!
Melissa Erickson: Melissa is a graduate of EWU with a Bachelor's in Business Administration (Finance). She began her career in fire protection as a Designer and holds a NICET II in Water-Based Systems Layout. More recently, she manages the business operations for AFS.
Richard Skelton: Richard is a graduate of WSU with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. He has worked in all area of fire protection, including: shop management, field installation, project management, and outside sales. Currently, Richard oversees our sales team and manages the field supervisors.
Jeff Gaskin: Jeff is our Alarm Division Manager with over 30 years of experience in the fire and security industry. He began his career as a technician in the field and progressively worked his way up over the years, gaining experience and education in engineering and design, project management, sales, sales management, operations management, and branch level management. He holds a NICET IV in Fire Alarm Systems and a low voltage 06 administrators and journeyman license in Washington, as well as a journeyman low voltage license in Idaho.
Nadia Medvedev: Nadia is our Secretary and also an A/P and A/R specialist. Hers is likely the first you will hear when you call our office. Nadia has several years experience in her position and previously worked at ADT.
